Kybella® is the first FDA approved double chin injection to reduce unwanted fat under the chin. Overview

Kybella® is an injectable solution composed of deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is found throughout your body and aids in the breakdown and processing of fat cells. When injected under the chin, Kybella® begins breaking down excess fat cells. Over time, these fat cells are processed and removed naturally by your body.

Treatment At A Glance:

During Kybella® treatment, the Kybella® solution is carefully injected into areas of submental fat. Your Kybella® doctor will administer a series of tiny injections around the area underneath the chin in order to achieve symmetrical results.

Double Chin Treatment

Treatment Amount

A series of Kybella® treatments are recommended for optimal results. Patients can expect 2-4 sessions that are spaced approximately 1 month apart from each other. However, the exact number of necessary double chin treatments will vary depending on the patient. Ideal Candidate

Anesthesia

Since Kybella® is completely non-surgical, general anesthesia is not required. A form of either topical or local anesthesia can be utilized to ease any discomfort, if necessary.

Expectations

You can expect mild bruising, swelling, redness, or sensitivity to last for a few days during your Kybella® recovery before subsiding. Patients can return to work, as well as daily activities, immediately following Kybella® treatment.
