Juvèderm Voluma®
Consultations offered at our two convenient locations in Carnegie Hill and Flatiron, NY

Juvéderm Voluma® is a long-lasting dermal filler that helps reduce the signs of aging by adding volume to the face. Juvéderm Voluma® can add definition, smooth lines, and improve facial contours. One of the longest-lasting fillers in the Juvéderm collection, Juvéderm Voluma® is ideal for restoring lost volume to the cheeks and midface. At Dermatology, Laser & Surgery of Carnegie Hill, our board-certified dermatologists can help you choose the right dermal filler in NYC based on your skin type and concern.
Procedure
With age, our skin becomes less hydrated and supple, causing a loss of facial volume, sagging skin, or fine lines and wrinkles. These signs of aging are known to make patients look much older than they feel, in turn hindering their self-confidence. Juvéderm Voluma® is a hyaluronic acid filler that can restore volume to the cheeks and chin, create a more sculpted jawline or cheekbones, lift drooping skin, and more. The unique formulation of Juvéderm Voluma® refreshes the skin and provides patients with a rejuvenated and refreshed appearance.
When injected, Juvéderm Voluma® can restore volume to areas of the face that may have hollowed out over time, such as the cheeks. Additionally, Juvéderm Voluma® is ideal for treating nasolabial folds, otherwise known as smile or frown lines. Juvéderm Voluma® can increase natural collagen production that will allow patients to continue to see anti-aging effects over time.

Safety
Juvéderm Voluma® is FDA-approved and safe for use. Patients with severe allergies manifested by a history of anaphylaxis or the presence of multiple allergies should not receive Juvéderm Voluma®. You should not receive Juvéderm® products if you’re allergic or have a sensitivity to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine. Juvéderm® should not be administered directly after laser treatments, deep chemical peels, or dermabrasion. If you’re pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, you should speak with your doctor before undergoing dermal filler treatment. If you’ve ever had an allergic reaction to any type of dermal filler, you should share this with your doctor. Anyone who has recently used blood thinners or has a bleeding disorder should avoid dermal fillers.
When Considering Juvéderm Voluma®, it is important to ensure that you choose a skilled injector. Our dermatologists specialize in Juvéderm Voluma® and have extensive experience administering all types of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. The injections must be placed precisely to achieve the desired result. Our certified providers can advise you on your treatment options and help you determine which type of cosmetic injectable is best suited to your needs and desired results.
Results
Following your Juvéderm Voluma® treatment, patients will notice immediate results. The area of injection will appear smoother, fuller, and more voluminous. In the week following the treatment, patients will begin to notice their full results. However, results may vary per patient. Juvéderm Voluma® provides long-lasting volumizing results that are natural-looking and require no downtime.
Juvéderm Voluma® treatments may last approximately 18-24 months; this is dependent on how fast the metabolism in your body breaks down the hyaluronic acid. Over time, you may need less frequent visits and smaller doses thanks to the long-term benefits of Juvéderm Voluma®.*
Recovery
Juvéderm Voluma® treatments are relatively fast and painless. Before the injections, the skin will be prepped with a topical numbing cream to ensure patient comfort throughout the procedure. Juvéderm Voluma® will be injected into the treatment areas using a very fine needle. This process can take 15-40 minutes depending on the treatment area.
In the days following treatment, patients may notice slight bruising, swelling, or redness surrounding their injection sites. However, this is normal and should subside in the days following the procedure. After receiving Juvéderm Voluma® injections, patients should follow their aftercare instructions diligently to ensure their results are long-lasting. Patients should avoid touching their injection sites, as well as direct sun exposure, alcohol, excess salt, aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, as well as lying face down.
